The Terminator 2013

The village has long been famed for its carnival, now in its second century, which is held during the first two weeks in September. Thousands of visitors come to watch, amongst other events, the “wheel-beer-row race and the carnival procession.

More recently, it has become famous with runners from far and wide for the multi-terrain race, organised by Pewsey Vale Running Club, held late each February. From a couple of hundred in its early days, the race has grown to over 900 runners in 2009, as word of the course’s scenery, the challenge it poses and the post-race cakes has spread.

Originally about 10 miles, the course was revised and is now nearer 11 miles, the original two energy sapping climbs having been increased to four. The next terminator will take place on Sunday 24th February... Will you be back?!

Race Details

Race HQ, Registration and Refreshments	Pewsey Vale School, Wilcot Road, Pewsey, Wiltshire, SN9 5EW. Tea, coffee and delicious cakes will be available.
The Course	Mostly on footpaths and tracks.  Trainers with good grip required.  Spikes not recommended.  No dogs please as there is likely to be livestock along the route.
Car Parking	At Pewsey School & Sports Centre and other Pewsey car parks (free). These will be marked from the main roads.  Please obey marshal’s instructions. Note: Several of the car parks are 5-10 minutes walk from race HQ and start.
Toilets, Changing & Showers	All at Pewsey School. Please use the toilets in the school or the portaloos provided.  Use of any available wall DOES NOT make our event popular with local residents.  Remove muddy shoes before entering the school, thank you.
Personal Listening Devices	MUST NOT be worn during the event. We have had serious near-misses as a result of participants not hearing marshall's instructions. It is your safety that is our primary concern and failure to comply will result in exclusion from the results.
The Start	The race starts at 10:30am from the school
Drink Stations	Drink station are at 3, 6 and 9 miles approximately and at the finish (11.5 miles)

Results	Envelopes will be available, please write your name and address on the envelope and enclose £1.00 to cover costs. Full results will be posted on our website: www.pewseyvalerunningclub.org
T-Shirts	You are guaranteed a t-shirt if you enter before 16th February 2013 and you do manage to complete the course. This year t-shirts are of a technical quality!
Entry	Up to and including the day of the race. Postal entries to be enclosed in a self addressed, stamped envelope (size C5 – 162 x 229mm) with your application.  Or apply online at www.runnersworld.co.uk.  Race numbers are to be collected on the day and will not be sent out prior to the race.
