Pewsey Vale Running Club running in the great outdoors
Our club has expanded steadily since its founding in 1987 when seven friends began running local races. We want to support and encourage people to get out and share our love of running.
We love to welcome new members, so whether you want to try five miles a week, or you're a club runner new to the area after some testing hill runs, get in touch and join us for a run!
An intermediate group who cover 5-10 kilometres (3-6 miles) taking approx. 60 minutes.
A more experienced group who normally cover 10-15 kilometres (6-9 miles) taking 60-90 minutes.
For beginners and those running up to 5km/3miles, there is a second Pewsey-based club 'The Pewsey Plodders’ who we share members and friends with. You can reach them here.
The first Thursday of every month we run a 5 kilometre time trial handicap open to everyone, with slower runners starting first and the fastest going last. It’s a fun night where the runner who manages the biggest improvement in their time is the winner!
We run the world-famous 12-mile trail race – The Terminator. This is a tough but rewarding trail race around the stunning Vale of Pewsey. The Terminator is featured on page 69 of the Worlds Ultimate Running Races!
We are run by our members as a charity, and we've also donated over £101,000 to charity with funds from our Terminator race. You can see all our donations since 1998.
If you have any questions about joining, where we meet, and what we do (including lots of silly things during Pewsey Carnival!) email us at pewseyvalerc@gmail.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
